Forever Rely On God

My walk of faith began at a young age having been blessed with both a loving mother and father to teach me all about Jesus. They taught me by showing me the Bible and reading many stories.  I like to say I had some sort of foundation to have taken my next step.  In college, I took a Bible history course and that made things a little more complex as I took the Bible as truth and prophecy, while in the class it was was instructed in more of a metaphorical way.  While there are parables, these are stories told by Jesus to illustrate morals and spiritual lessons.  In my heart, I have always known the Holy Spirit was with me, despite my stumbling but I also know He loves me and is faithful, he forgives and He died on the cross for me! I think one of the most amazing things about knowing Jesus is that after you accept Him into your heart, you are given the Holy Spirit.  John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." Jesus promised us all the Holy Spirit.  John 14:26-27 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  These are Jesus' words spoken to His disciples; we are God's disciples!  I began to embrace all the negative and positive things happening in my life, because the Bible told me so, and when I did, it became clear that it is true you will find happiness through your trials and tribulations, this is growth and perseverance.  James 1:2-6  "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

Many live with "back up plans" which are plans "B" or "C" if "A" doesn't work out.  When you have strong faith in God, you require no "back up plan" because you are "Trust(ing) in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6. "For we walk by faith, not by sight:" II Corinthians 5:7 and therefore; do not need a back up plan when God is "Plan A".

The walk is not easy, and you will be fighting harder against the enemy  Isaiah 59:19 "So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him."
